What's the most important question to ask yourself if you're saved already. You might be thinking, "I'm already born again, so what is my most important question in my life?" Praise the Lord if you are already saved by trusting in Jesus Christ alone and not in your good works or anything else, because only Jesus alone can save you from God's eternal punishment.
Let's first start by asking questions that are very important, but they are NOT the MOST important questions: Who will I marry? What kind of job will I have in life? Where will I live? etc. etc. These are VERY important questions, but they are not the MOST important.
Here is the Most important question that Teens need to ask themselves: "WHAT DOES GOD WANT ME TO DO WITH MY LIFE?" To often most people ask, "what do I want to do with MY life?" Here's something of great importance that each and every Christian should understand, YOUR LIFE BELONGS TO GOD! Read the following passages: 1Cor. 6:19 & 20 "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." 1Cor. 6:13 "Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord" also, 2Cor. 5:15 " and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again." If you are a Christian teen, you need to think about your life in the light of this question: "what does God want ME to do?"
Obviously, while you're still living with your parents, some of these questions have already been answered in God's word
(ie: God wants you to obey and respect your parents. God want you to obey Him. Teens often make Grand plans for their future without asking the MOST IMPORTANT Person in the life what He wants of them. Yes, that's right, what does God desire of my life? Now this may seem like such a huge sacrifice and a giant step of trust to give your whole earthly future to God, but haven't you done that already with your eternal life. You say you're a Christian, so that means you're already trusting God to forgive you of all your sins and get you to Heaven when the time comes. Teens need to learn to give their life to God in all the small areas first. Yes, right now in your life, begin serving God. Start yielding to the Lord where you're at NOW, so when you get to the Big question of "what do you want me to do with my life Lord" you be accustomed to asking God and giving your life to Him.
So where do you get the answers for Specific directions in life? Let me give you a few sources that you NEED to depend on and all three of these are Needed, you should not leave even one source out:
First, God's Word, know it, read it, believe it. Proverbs 3:6 "In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path."
Second, your parents know you better than anyone else and they have been (hopefully) directing you in the way you should go. So you need to ask their advice for direction.
Thirdly, other counselors, beginning with your pastor or youth leader, godly friends, relatives with godly insight and others that care about you from a spiritual perspective.
Finally, the advice of your godly parents combined with wisdom from God's word should carry the most weight in your decision.
So go ahead and ask - "What does God want me to do with my life that belongs to HIM?"
